Screed only lies flat on a prepared base. What is hidden underneath decides how long the floor will last.
Assessing the base
Before work starts we check the strength and moisture of the base, strip weak layers and repair cracks. Without that the new screed will copy the faults of the old one.
Waterproofing and acoustic isolation
On residential and commercial slabs we lay an isolation layer: it takes out impact noise and keeps moisture out of the structure.
Checking the level
We set the level to pins and check it on every bay — a deviation is cheaper to fix before the pour than after.
